Immigration to the United States (Green Card through Refugee or Asylee Status)

 

You may be eligible to apply for a green card if you were granted asylum status at least 1 year ago or were admitted as a refugee at least 1 year ago.

U.S. immigration law allows asylees to apply for lawful permanent resident (LPR) status after they have been physically present in the U.S. for at least one year since being granted asylum.
